

Look for Messenger Lite in other countries in the coming months. Messenger Lite is starting to roll out to people in Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela. It’s been available for a while in India and Africa, but it’s now available in the US, European. Messenger Lite is designed to work anywhere, but especially on slow phones on low quality cellular networks. On my Moto E4, it’s just 6MB in size a tenth of what the full app is. The bolt is blue with a white chat bubble background. Fortunately, Facebook has an alternative called Messenger Lite. Messenger Lite uses the same bolt logo as Messenger, but with colors reversed. It includes Messenger’s core experiences such as messaging, sending and receiving photos and links, and receiving stickers. Messenger Lite is under 10MB, so it’s fast to install and quick to start up.
